Our Thoughts: Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Riccardo after his Monza Win

With a F1 making its way back to Albert Park, the Australian Grand Prix has put one thing back in my mind.

We all remember the excellent performance from Both McLaren last year in Monza and it was a standout race for Daniel Ricciardo, Getting his first Grand Prix win since 2018.

Daniel is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic and lovable figures on the grid but has this hidden the lack lustre performances from a once promising title prospect.

The race win in Monza was a silver lining in an enormous dark cloud, even with the race victory Ricciardo still finished 9th in the driver standings and 45 points behind his teammate Lando Norris.

For a seasoned driver questions have to be asked whether Daniel still has it to become a world champion.

The 2022 season gives Ricciardo another chance at grabbing the championship and with F1 returning to Australia what better of a year.

However, McLaren's awful start to the season hasn’t benefited Ricciardo so we can only hope that their car improves to give Daniel a chance in his home race.

The improvements seem to be coming through for the two McLaren's as both Ricciardo and Russell place in the top 7.
