Rapid looking Miami track to meet expectations?

Just hours away until rubber hits the tarmac in Miami, what can we expect from this new circuit on the F1 calendar and will the racing on track match the hype.
It is finally race week in South Beach, where the much-anticipated inaugural Miami Grand Prix will take place. Where the 20 drivers and 10 teams will seek to have a highly successful weekend at a track that looks to epitomise Formula One racing.

We begin with a flowing Sector 1, including three right turns and three left turns, and a short run up into turn 1 where we will be sure to see plenty of wheel-to-wheel racing as the drivers make their way through a hectic sector of the track.

The track then swiftly heads on to the first long straight as Sector 2 begins, where cars still dealing with porpoising will be looking at the track with their heads in their hands. This will lead to the first overtaking zone heading down into turn 11.

Drivers are then faced with a tricky section of the track, where following the long straight comes a series of tight and technical corners where they will need a good exit out of turn 16 to maximise speed down the back straight.

The final part of Sector 3, involves a slight hairpin at the end of the back straight, followed by a flowing left then right heading down the short start-finish straight, where the drivers will be looking to set scorching lap times in the Miami heat in Saturday's qualifying session.

The track certainly looks fun on paper, and there is sure to be plenty of racing action with two mega long straights giving the drivers plenty of opportunity for overtaking. No matter what people may think of the spectacle it has become, Miami looks likely to give us a track born to be on the F1 calendar.
